Re: FIOS TV STB Problem
I can’t pause live TV from my DVR box.
I used to be able to. Now it doesn’t work. I read a previous thread on this topic but It never got resolved.
Re: I can’t pause live TV from my DVR box.
I read a few more threads. I switched remotes. The light is registering on the box and I am hitting the bottom portion of the play/pause button. I also manually reset my box. No results. I also switched to several different channels to make sure the content I wanted to pause wasn’t blocked from pausing for some reason.
The main box media server connections
hi I have had the food one system for 2 months now. I have the gigabit connection. I was really excited about the food one because I live in an apartment and there in no way to run a wire into my bedroom. (I'm an electrician so I know how to run wire) but unfortunately my one moni in my room gets poor signal. It might be because everyone in this complex has WiFi so they are interfearing with each other. Anyway I considered buying the Google WiFi mesh routers. But they are expensive. So today I moved the router into my son's room and I plan on getting Ethernet cables for his Xbox and fios one mini.
So I have a few questions. First can I replace the xoaxil cable going from the splitter to the main media server with an Ethernet cable? And will that make a difference? And by putting my son's Xbox and fios mini box on Ethernet will that help fix my issue with my bedroom box having poor connection and jittering?
Re: The main box media server connections
The coax going to the server and router will stay in place. Then run the ethernet from the LAN (yellow) ports on the router to the mini.
Re: Fios TV One remote and AVR volume control
Having the exact same frustrating problem: manual remote setup works great and then it automatically resets on restart to something that does not quite work.
Thus, there is no point to manual remote setup.
FiOS TV One VMS4100 Audio Pass Through Only Passing 5.1 Channels
I have been a happy Fios subscriber for the better part of 10 years and recently upgraded to the new Fios TV One VMS4100. I also am a former home theater technician/programmer/installer. Previously when I accessed the BUI Main Menu and changed the Audio Output to Pass Through (green button for 5+ seconds>User Settings>Additional Settings>Audio Output) on not just my box but my customer's also, it would pass the proper audio through to the AVR (audio/video receiver). When the station was broadcasting 5.1 channels, 5.1 channels would be sent via HDMI to the AVR and it would be decoded properly for the system that I or the customer had set up. If it was a stereo broadcast, the same would happen and it would be decoded and play on all speakers. Since I got the new box this isn't the case. Whether I set Audio Output to Pass Through or Auto, all I'm getting is 5.1 channels. This is a problem because all programming isn't in 5.1 channel surround sound. For example, MTV is broadcast in stereo and it should be passed to my AVR as such, but it's not. It's being sent from MTV to Fios in stereo then to my AVR from the VMS4100 as 5.1 channels but the broadcast is in stereo so the only speakers that work are the left and right front speakers regardless of what decoder I select on my AVR. The other 3 channels are missing so the AVR, or any AVR for that matter, can't decode channels that aren't there. The only way to make the audio acceptable is to switch the Audio Output to L-PCM when watching a show or program I know is in stereo every time which is a hassle and is definitely not acceptable since this wasn't an issue I've ever had with any Fios box previously. How this was overlooked is beyond me. I've spoken to/chatted with Fios Support regarding this issue and they told me that the VMS4100 was being developed and tested for 3 years and nobody noticed this flaw? They also didn't really understand what I was saying nor were they aware of when a firmware update might be rolled out to fix it. What's up and is anybody else experiencing this?
Re: Auto-Tune to HD channels not working
What model stbs do you have? Main is VMS 1100 Others are IPC1100P2
What software version? Not sure about software version. This what I was able to find in Settings: Release: APR-6.5
Build & Ul Version 24.18
All channels? Yes. The failure to Auto Tune to HD channels happens on all channels
that have both an analog and HD version.
Thanks for your interest and hopefully, help.

DVR playback on mobile constantly pauses. On Demand does not.
Whenever we try to watch DVR'd shows on our phones the playback constantly pauses. We usually have to reduce the quality to medium but even then it's not immune. However we have no trouble streaming On Demand in full HD.
That would suggest an issue with either our DVR or home network, but our network consistently gets 500mbps up/down and we have no trouble recording multiple shows in HD simultaneously. I've heard lot's of similar stories from others on this forum and elsewhere, but never hear of any solutions being found. Does HD playback from DVR work for anyone? Has anyone run into this and solved it?
Re: Two Fios TV One Questions (Help please!)
Sorry to be a pain, but just looking for some other confirmation out there that a "Dual DVR" can be set up in TV One, just like legacy FIOS. I want to upgrade to the new boxes, but not unless I can be sure that I can replicate a "2 DVR" setting, where any STB can access either of the recordings on both DVRS -- and that both DVRS will be separate storage devices.
Can anyone help or confirm? Thanks!

Yes you can have 2 DVRs with separate storage but instead of “Enhanced DVR service” ask for “Premium DVR service”. Then you will have 2 DVRs and any other TVs you have will connect to the mini clients.
Switching from WiFi->Coax connection
My WiFi connection goes in and out. I connected a coax cable and it still is running off the WiFi connection. How do I disable or choose which connection? I have selected okay on WiFi connection to switch....it reboots but still WiFi.
Re: FiOS TV One VMS4100 Audio Pass Through Only Passing 5.1 Channels
Thought I replied, but didn't see it. I've been trying to get this, no 480 pass through, no native video option and compression or clipping noise on audio fixed for months now. There is supposedly a firmware update to v6.5 rolling out now, but nobody knows what it fixes. Should get it here on April 3, we'll see. Many issues with these boxes.
Re: DVR playback on mobile constantly pauses. On Demand does not.
I can do it without an issue.
Only time I have seen it buffer is when internet connectivity is slow.
Either poor WiFi or slow internet.

Been trying to get the issues you found and a bunch of others, hopefully this is the cure. Like you experienced, Verizon techs are totally uninformed about any technical aspects of the service. The answer I got after having EVERYTHING replaced because of audio noise was" our signal is compliant". Gives them a world of latitude.
Re: TV randomly restarting when changing TV input to Fios - VMS1100
It's interesting. We had a similar problem where the vizio tv would shutoff/restart if the volume button was used or if mute was used. This happened when the tech was here for installation. Because we couldn't figure it out, he gave me an extra older remote (the non talking one) and it worked ok. A few days later I tried the original (talking) remote, and it seemed to re-pair with the tv and since then it's fine. This leads me to believe it was in fact a firmware update that fixed it. So maybe try again to do the pairing?
Re: Fios TV One Mini & Ethernet?
Did you have to do anything to the main box? I just tried this and got an error message that it was unable to find a network connection. I rebooted again after disconnecting the ethernet cable and it connected right back to wifi.
Any reason NOT to switch to FIOS TV ONE boxes?
Hi all,
Just wanted to put this out there. Leaving the $50 equipment upgrade fee aside, is there any reason why I would NOT want to switch over from Legacy Equipment (7232 DVRS, 7100 STBs) to the new TV One boxes?
From my understanding, this won't affect my bill at all (My package would remain exactly the same), and equipment rental charges are basically the same. So why would I NOT want to upgrade?
Appreciate any feedback, esp. from those who've made the switch!
Side/Related question -
(Note: I currently have Multi Room DVR on my existing package. I would want Premium Multi Room DVR on my TV One equipment.. I wonder if this will be an added fee, and if so - how much. Anyone know?).
Re: Any reason NOT to switch to FIOS TV ONE boxes?
Limited outputs, one HDMI, one Composite, one optical. No 480 pass through, no native video pass through, only dolby 5.1 audio out regardless of source (unless you choose LPCM stereo). No display clock or channel, limited help from tech support.
Re: Problems with new FiOS TV app
I no linger have the "watch on STB" option on the app. Also discovered today that some On Demand cintent (like 60 Days In S5) is free on the app but 1.99 an episode on STB. And Ive added/registered my mobile device and rebooted the STB to no avail.
