Fios Tv - back from commercial ..no audio for a minute

when commercials end, and the tv show returns, often there is no audio output for 20 seconds or something and then it returns. WHy?

Why are there still SD Channels?

Every SD channels just letterboxes the picture already, so why not just get rid of them and have the box downsample the output to 480i?  I'm sure nobody purposly watches these channels.

Yes I am.I have used it before and has worked.Won't say flawlessly, but fairly well.I have had the best success by using twitter @verizonsupport.But as always, YMMV.
