is there a way to tell why a program didn't record

i've had a few different dvr's through various services and they've all let me see why a program didn't record, or at least show me what programs were missed.  I don't see either of those with fios....

With VMS you can upgrade to premium service that gives you a second one.Keep in mind that DVR is designed more as temporary storage not permanent.In the event it fails, you lose everything on it.

Go to DVR configure and upgrade all activity.That shows why a show was deleted or if there was a conflict in recording.

This has been a problem for years and they can't or won't fix it, I think I'll give Comcast a try.

As was stated, 1100 does not support external drive.And yes, as far as I know, external drives are still married to DVR.
