Which Device to Link To?

I have enabled the Alexa skill for the VMS1100 and have done a scan of my network, but the results say I have two devices? How is that possible and which device should I be selectingScreenshot_2019-05-12-22-43-10.png

What model DVR do you have?

BTW, if you have chaptering turned on, you can use the arrow to jump ahead by as much as 10 min at a time depending on the length of the show

Connect soundbar to Polaroid TV and/or Fios STB

I have a fairly old Polaroid TV with HDMI and I am trying to connect my LG soundbar with a wireless subwoofer to it since the sound on the tv speakers have gone bad (and  do not want to really buy a new tv). The soundbar has an optical line but when I hooked it up to Fios STB I could still hear sound coming from the TV speakers. This stuff confuses me so not sure if the soundbar needs to be directly hooked up to the TV or if their is setting on STB to make sure only sound comes from the soundbar. Thanks

Should be an option on the TV to use external speakers only. You're fine using the optical out of the box, if the TV has optical out you could also use that. If no option to use external speakers on TV, just put the TV in mute, or turn volume all the way down.

Same here.

 

I made the big mistake of trying to have the Fios One Mini replaced out for one of the VMS4100s.  Instead, the guy canceled my DVR service and I received a return box for both of my boxes.

 

After another 1.5 hours plus on support chat, I got DVR service back, but I could never get the agents to understand the difference between the old Fios DVR and mini and the new Fios One DVR (VMS4100) and its newer versioned mini.

 

Everytime I brought it up, they would say something dumb like "would you like the new Fios One?" and I just gave up.

 

Come on Verizon, I had one DVR and one mini, now I have 2 VMS4100s, one of which produces fan noise in my bedroom AND I'm being charged for the ulta premium 2xDVR service (12 shows at once) that I can't even use because I gotta keep the box in the bedroom unplugged.

 

I'm afraid to play CS roulette, anymore, however.

To clarify a bit. This setup should work fine only two points that I need to stress. Disable dhcp (basically access point mode) on Your non Verizon router, and plug a LAN port on your FiOS router into LAN port on your non FiOS router. Viola all on the same network


New STB displays "u56r" and "u56"?

I have a new STB that I am trying to connect to my cable. On the display it toggles back and forth with the letters "u56r" and "u56". Anyone know what this means? My old STB work fine with the same cable connection. See pics below20190514_214609.jpg20190514_214624.jpg

Woops......I thought my savings were going to be $30, and the final quote is almost a $50 savings.  Equipment arrived in 3 days, but I want to talk to FIOS Tech about my nightmare COAX setup and my WIFI before I install.

My Fios App is showing Playback error code 9-6-14-306-999.  I have uninstalled and re-installed the App, turned the phone off and back on and nothing works.

Problem is the new boxes need to communicate with the FIOS router directly because they use a hidden network that can only be seen on the router. So an extender wont work with the mini wireless, unless the FIOS extender is capable of repeating the hidden network.

Whne the STB displays USB please get in contact with technical support. I had that before at my home and they had to replace it.

I've had them since Jan. While I'm glad I saw 4k support I do miss the digital screen in front of the old stbs. New fios one box has no screens in front and the mini boxes for other rooms can be used wireless without need for coaxial cables although I choose to use the coax cable instead of them using the hidden ssid on my router hogging up my 5ghz that I rather my devices use instead. Overall their great and a big improvement the remotes are Bluetooth so no more facing it to the TV you can be in another room and still change channels with remote. Video experience is the same except ui is in 4k but it's not up scaling movies into 4k quality at least not yet

Maybe when movies are in 4k it would say 4k instead of HD when you hit info on what you watching. Overall no complaints here.

Yet another similar/same issue. We have FIOS at this NJ address since early 2013. Same type of receiver, Motorola over the time just changed once long time ago in 2015 as it died. Up to now, 2019, both Fav1 and Fav2 kept without any attention, adding new channels that we got over time atomatically and removing those Verizon removed from lineup but not affecting anything else. Since early in 2019 on both Favs it started about weekly making minor changes that make no sense, removing typically channels 517 and 619 that we are actually subscribed to and adding 608 and 613 which we are not. It did similar minor changes with some other channels but not always. About a week ago it started to do way, way more&damaging and not on a weekly but daily/hourly basis: it would replace complete Favs list with a very small and seemingly random choice which includes both some channels we are subscribed and some that we are not. Resetting and replacing the lists make no change, soon Favs are butchered again. Verizon, please fix this!

Rewind Capability cloud dvr

 Before I upgrade to the cloud DVR service I want to be certain that rewind buffering capability is still there. Currently I have two DVR‘s and 6ST bees. I can change from current and previous channels and rewind on both up to one hour. 

Does that ability still exist with the cloud DVR service or is it only because I have two DVR’s with multiple tuners

 

 I just want to be sure we can rewind previous and current channels before I commit to the upgrade
