Go to menu, settings, voice control, food TV voice remote, program fios TV voice remote, reset remote setup. Do that for both remotes. Re- pair one remote, turn that box off, re-pair the other remote to the other box. That should do it.

Here is the response I received regarding the authentication with streaming devices issues:

 

"Verizon doesn’t have any apps in market on any streaming devices. That means that users are having issues with content providers own apps with the Verizon SSO login (ex. they are trying to use the Verizon credentials on provider apps). This would be an authentication issue so the best thing would be to refer users to submit a ticket via the supported platforms - Fios TV App or Fios TV Web as the team has automated support flows to assist the customers."

 

Sorry but it's the best I can do at this time.

I can move the a/v options with my remote, but nothing happens if i hit enter.  If i just leave it, eventually, it changes.  Usually, i do not have patience to wait and would like to hit enter and have it change.  Any suggestions?

I spent half a day trying to get my problems fixed and nothing. It keeps getting worse I get disoriented pictures on channels or no picture and it seems to be getting worse. Never had this problem before and have had Verizon since they brought it here. I think they should somehow fix my problems. The lady did all kinds of stuff then said it was on their end then said she was sending it to another department and it would be completely fixed within 24 to 48 hours. It wasn’t ! I saw where Verizon called me twice but no message left. With all the years and all the money we have spent on Verizon there has to be a answer. We always loved it and never had problems until about a month ago. I’m thinking we may have very old box or set top box that is causing this ? The set top box has been replaced once only.

HDMI 1 & HDMI 2 are seperate ports on the device (tv) each input labeled show reflect same. You have to be hooked into that connection to use it.

I had this same problem.    My issue is I turn off the FIOS Router Wifi and use an EERO.    Basically, what I see is the Fios App MUST be connected to the FIOS Router for you to get ALL channels. 

 

I went into my Fios Router, and turned the wifi on and created a Test SSID...and once I conected my IPAD to that new SSID, all the channels and the DVR worked.

 

So, they need to fix the FiosTV app to support people using other wireless routers on their home network as theirs is not that good.

Same problem with last week installation.  Had to reject VMS-4100 unit and install older VMS-1100 unit instead.  Very disappointed.  This is out of control -- I cannot believe that Verizon's latest flagship DVR cannot support surround sound -- actually breaks it, instead.  They have to get this fixed!

I wonder if the IPC-4100 minis can do any better with supporting DD 5.1 surround sound properly.   I didn't get to try that.

The mini is exactly the same. There is no working option to get unprocessed audio from either of the 4100 series boxes at this time. I have another complaint in with Verizon techs, but please go to dslreports.com,  the Verizon TV forum and post the issue to Verizon Direct. The more voices the better.

As was stated, most TVs require a live signal on an input before they will switch to it. Try making sure whatever is attached to the inputs is on before you try to switch.

fios is charging me  $12 for a ST box and seperately for a DVR. another $12.   i'll have to complain to them if that is true what you are saying.

Please everybody read the original issue at hand! The VMS4100 doesn't do pass through audio! Regardless of what you set the Denon(or any other AVR) for, the problem still remains! Every FIOS box before the VMS4100 would pass whatever audio (5.1 or stereo) the provider of the channel (MTV, ESPN etc.) was sending out as, long as you had the box set for pass through (I gave instructions in my 1st post on how to do this) as the provider intended it do be sent out and allow your receiver/sound bar/ tv to handle the processing. Currently, regardless of what signal the provider is sending out (whether stereo or 5.1 surround) the VMS4100 sends it as 5.1 surround when audio is set to Pass Through in the BUI Main Menu! I received a message twice from Fios saying that they were working on a fix........about 3 months ago!

Freezing everyday

Since switched from direct tv ( never should have) Tv freezes up everyday on both boxes. When they installed they told me they needed to do work on the lines at road because the service line was to far down the rd and would cause problems.  That never happened and forget trying to get help another then doing resets on my end and theirs. Fixes problem for the day.

The problem originated with the 4100 series. We were using the receiver to verify the audio output of the boxes, which is always Dolby 5.1 regardless of original source. Look back at some of my posts and you'll see documented proof of the original signal, and the processing being applied by the 4100. Not only is the box converting everything to 5.1, but Dolby Audio compression is being applied regardless of your settings in the menu. The compression settings only apply to the analog audio outside, not the optical or HDMI outs. Like I said, please contact Verizon support directly.

Fios TV app problems on IOS 9.3.5 iPad 2

I have recently switch to Fios. I have been able to use an older iPad2 that runs IOS 9.3.5 connect to my providers streaming app.

 

However, When I try to connect to the Fios TV app get this Error Code:

9-6-24-100-999

 

My newer iPad Air was able to successfully connect as was my Kindle Fire.

 

I am hoping there is some magic that will let me use the older device for streaming.

 

I am Running IOS 9.3.5

I have version 1.7 of the FIOS TV app (this was the latest my device will let me download).

iPad 2 Model Number FC706LL/A

 

I tried using Safari Browser to use the FIOS web site but that just points me to downloading the app. 

Thanks for any ideas.

Please note these dates

iOS ver 9.3.5  released Aug 25,2016

FiOS TV app ver 1.7 released Dec 5,2018

Latest FiOS TV app released July 15,2019

I believe that YOUR iPad 2 iOS can no longer be updated beyond 9.3.5

is that correct?

Looks like time for a new iPad 2

my new one running with iOS 12.4.1

My iPad 2 cannot be upgraded beyond 9.3.5; that is correct.

 

I guess, my point is that if C***ST can get thier app to work on this iPad then so should Verizon.

Also youtube, youtube kids, locast and other streaming apps work on this device.

I'm not asking for the latest and best high speed game. Just want to watch a stream on a device that is capable of it.
