Set top box does not work

$

I have gone through all of the troubleshooting steps and the issue persists. Also, I have tried to contact Verizon support via phone and online chat but the automated phone message disconnects when it tries to transfer me and the chat transferred me then just aprubtly ended.

I just recently started my service service and am regretting it due to the absurdly pitiful customer service I am receiving.

Cant get local channels 3,6,10,12 etc

I have one basic box which does not get any of the local channels. I have had multiple repair tickets even had a tech come to my home.  Told there is a "reginal problem with the anolog stations. This is has been going on for over a month. The tv in this room can not get HD, so no point in up grading to another box.

Maybe time to look at other providers?

SOLUTION! Re: "Enjoying your free preview" popup again!

A second Verizon tech reserached this for me and actually called back with a solution. (Many thanks to her!)

The popup can be disabled with: Menu-Settings-System-Television-Interactive Television (disable).

She wasn't sure what else this might disable (so far it doesn't look like much, if anything). But if you try this, remember the steps in case something you need is disabled as well.

I'm still curious about whether Starz/Encore subscribers are seeing this "free preview" popup. Verizon tech support says they are, but it seems hard to believe. But they tell me the popup should go away after Sunday, when the free trial ends.

Remotes

I just two days ago upgraded and installed the Fios One system it looks alot like Comcast X1 platform my question is has anyone figured out how to program the old  Fios remote to work on the new system?

Here is how you do it on Comcast X1 that I have at another residence where Fios is not available

Using an old Comcast remote with an X1 box.

I couldn't find how to do this anywhere on this forum so I figured I'd post it anyways. If you'd like to use an old remote (Grey with red OK button) to control your new X1 cable box (Mine is make Arris model mx011anm) follow these steps:

1) Hold the SETUP button until the indicator light blinks two times.
2) Enter 9 - 8 - 2. The indicator light will blink four times.

This unlocks your remote.

3) Hold the SETUP button until the indicator light blinks two times.
4) Enter the code 01982

This should make your old grey remote (That can control your TV, AV Receiver, and Cable Box) work with your new X1 receiver. The reason this is important to me is because the provided XR2 version U2 remote can only control your box and your TV. You do lose a little functionality with the old remote when interfacing with your X1 box compared to the provided remote but I feel the trade off is worth it for me.

I discovered all of this via Comcast's online chat feature with a tech support representative.

any help would be greatly appriciated as you cannot use two voice remotes on the same box.

It would be neat to be able to do when two people are watching.

Verizon FIOS has been slow in meeting technical changes. I just set up the FIOS voice control STB and mini box. All is working but yes they need to add Google Home to the FIOS network..

I don’t understand your question the old remotes do control the new FiOS TV One boxes.

Verizon, like other companies, are market driven.
Do any of the other major cable companies support Google Home directly (without use of an extra device)?

FIOS TV app authentication failed

When I try to log into the FIOS TV app, I get an error message that says "Authentication failed" an Error Code of 9-6-23-302-100. I've twice changed my password, deleted the app, re-installed the app, and tried to log in with the new password. Each time I get the same error message.

Customer service has thus far been only able to recommend the password change-app deletion-app re-installation process, which hasn't fixed the issue.

Any recommendations?

P265v5 RC remote problems

Hello all. We have two stbs, one media server and one small HD box. For some reason today we developed an issue with the remote in the living room. When trying to manually enter channel numbers, or look at the guide, the stb does not respond, or worse yet, when it does let me enter numbers, it will only let me enter two digits. I swapped the remotes, and the one from the living room stb worked fine in the bedroom with the HD box; but the bedroom remote did the exact same thing when using it with the living room stb. I chatted with tech support about the issue, and it was decided after quite a bit of frustration to replace the media server box. I brought the HD box downstairs and hooked it up,  and both remotes act up. They are fine when used with the media server box, which is now upstairs. the downstairs TV has been rendered useless by the inability to control it. I suspect some sort of interference, but I cannot imagine what would be interfering with it. Any help would be most appreciated, as I am at my wit's end with this. Thank you.

Hi and thanks for your help. Is there a way to fast forward the guide only 12 hours with one press of a remote button? Pressing the fast forward button advances the guide 24 hours

If you hit the Next button above fast forward. That will advance it a few hours.

Red Light on Video - all others green

My fairly new Fios Interface box (July July 2018) all of a sudden displays a Red Video error light. All the other lights are green. My service is working fine; phone, internet, TV. I have reset the moden and the box. When i contacted Verizon chat - they said eerything is normal and its just a 'glitch'. There is no such thing as a glitch, there is something wrong.

Verizon does not want to troubleshoot any further.

any advice?

Caller ID on TV

We just upgraded to FIOS TV One.  Since changing to the new box our Caller ID on the TV hasn’t worked. We went through the troubleshooting on the TV and received the caller ID test message. However, when a call comes in it does not show up on the TV. Contacted support online and no one has been able to fix it.  We’ve reset the router and ONT, still doesn’t work. Anyone else have this issue?

A red video light indicates there is a low 1550 video light level coming into the ONT. It could be that there really is a low signal or the ONT is faulty.

As long as there is no tiling or breaking up in your TV picture I would just ignor it.

I also had this error. It took me about an hour to realize that, though I used to have Verizon, it was only FIOS Internet...no TV. Make sure you're using the Coax that's coming out of the ONT...not from the street. That was my problem anyway. As soon as I traced the Coax back from my TV and realized I was using the Coax cable from the street, I connected it to the splitter out of the ONT and that took care of everything. Hope that helps.

Can only find replies from 2012, 7 years ago, from people having same problem as me newly installed 3 weeks ago.  What receiver(s) work?

Sound problem

Only on some channels, e.g. 504 (NBC), very low sound level (hardly audible) during regular program, but normal (loud) sound level during commercials.

Details: Verizon fios STB, HDMI, new Samsung TV, optical sound cable to Denon AVR, separate speakers.

Sound normal when only built-in speaker is used (which is poor sound quality for music).

Has anybody experienced this problem of different sound levels between show and commercial?
