I have the VMS1100 and they way you get there is Menu/Settings/System/Media Server Settings/Auto Power Off then set to None
When you turn off your TV, you’ll probably also need to hit Menu on the remote to turn the VMS back on.

Also, check your TV and STB setting for HDMI-CEC or something like that.
Make sure that is disabled.
Hi!
When I try to use the Fios TV app remote or watch shows recorded on my DVR, I get different error messages. For the remote function, I get "unable to pair remote with the Fios TV box. Please retry after rebooting your box." for watching recorded shows, I get this message: "Oops. Unable to communicate with your Fios TV box. Please relaunch this app while connected to your Fios Wi-Fi router to restore the configuration. I this problem persists, please report the issue from the Help Section of the app." Except when I try to report the problem, I get this message: "Your device is not provisioned. In order to provision your device, please verify that it is in-home and connected to your Verizon router. Once your device is in-home and connected to your Verizon router, please close and restart the app."
This problem seems to be linked to my Orbi system, I didn't have problems with the app connecting to my box before I set up the Orbi system.
Have you seen this ?
Does it apply in your situation ?

I have an VMS1100 and recently received a new one. I went into the old one and backed up the DVR schedule to the cloud. Unplugged the old one, plugged in the new one and started it up. No DVR schedule is pulled down. Had issues setting the name to that of the orginal box and after two hours with tech support I'm told that when they receive the old box and remove it from the system I will get the DVR schedule (yeah right). Here's what I've done thus far:
Tried a cold boot - didn't work
Tried the 2618 code - didn't work
Hooked up the old box to a different area of the house, but you can't import settings from one media server to another
Any name changes I've made do not show up in the online portal (I only see Living Room (old box) and Family Room (new box) - neither of which are the names actually being used currently)
I'm at my wits end with this and know the second I send the old box back I'm going to lose the schedule and it's a giant pain to have to re-enter all of the schedule stuff by hand. Any ideas?
On March 15, 2019, a Verizon technician installed a FIOS TV One main unit and four minis at my home to replace five old set top boxes.
While we were eagerly anticipating your latest hardware, apparently due to the lack of appropriate software currently installed with the FIOS TV One Remotes my experience with 3 of the 5 remotes has been very disappointing.
Specifically, of my five HD TV setups, the new TV One Remotes only work satisfactorily with two of them, Setup 1: a Sony TV paired with a Sony audio system, and Setup 2: a Sony TV with no attached external audio system.
My third setup is a newly purchased TCL Model 32S327 TV with no external audio system. The FIOS TV One Remote won’t pair with my TV. It will not turn the TV on or off or adjust the volume. Ironically, my old original Verizon Remote Control– 4 Device still works perfectly with the TCL TV and the newly installed mini unit.
My fourth setup is a Samsung TV with a Yamaha YHT-4930UBL audio system. The FIOS TV One Remote satisfactorily controls the TV but, while it will control the volume of and turn off the external audio system, it won’t turn it on!
My fifth setup is a Samsung TV with a Logitech Z906 external audio system. The FIOS TV One Remote controls the TV but it will not pair with the external audio system.
In summary, the new FIOS TV One Remotes will not control one of my TVs and two of my audio systems. The Verizon technician posited that future software updates will hopefully address these issues. My inquiry is if future software updates can be anticipated?
How do I block the youtube widget on the cable box. There doesn't seem to be any way to block it and it is providing access to inappropriate content to my young children. The parental controls do not have anyu options to stop access.
For modification, we do not just want just to add time, but to reduce time! This will stop a show from bleeding into the next hour. Please add this functionality to your modification process. This is not good enough. The manual add process is way too much work and i have to do it 3 or 4 times before it is right. This needs to be addressed. why was the modification set up to only add minutes to a show? Who set it up that way?? i always need to reduce the length, but can't. Fix this please. Thanks.
The reason most people extend time is because of previews for next week show or in case overtime in game. Reducing minutes would be extremely uncommon.
This isn't just a Verizon DVR setting. I had TiVo, Comcast, and DirecTV DVRs and none of them had the ability to reduce minutes.
It happens though. And i rarely want to add time. The last 2 times i wanted to modify, it was to reduce time and i cant do it easily. See, when i can only dvr 2 shows and a 3rd show bleeds over the beginning of the other 2, i have to modify. Now i want to modify quickly, but i cant. So what i said stands. Why not be able to reduce or add? that is the question. Should be able to do both. Anyway, rare or common, i want to be able to do it simply.
Just set it up. While it works, kit is VERY fristrating that there is no channel display on the front or clock. What were they thinking????? I also notice that this model only gets an average rebview of one star in Amazon (which is veryvery unusual). Verizon -- please replace with a box that provides feedback on what channel you are watching.

I have the same issue and have reported it. The reply is that the app will not support this setup. They purposefully block it and want to sell you their own packaged access point. Part profit, part support headache they are trying to avoid because they were spending too much time trying to troubleshoot everyone’s setups. It’s too bad really because I have all the same exact settings on bridge mode (inc SSID) and it still doesn’t work.
I have this same question because I need more space, but I don't want to lose all the recordings on my current box. I'm not great with all the technical terms so I couldn't figure out if this was actually answered, or just talked about. If I switch from Enhanced to Premium will I need a new box?

Yes you will get new box. It won't be replacing your current one with the recordings that will stay in place. You will just get a second VMS1100 which is the bigger one. That one is the DVR and it holds the recordings.
Basically you will take one of the small ones out and connect a second VMS1100 in it's place.
I am having the same problem with my new FIOS TVOne unit. My mini TVOne box is connected to the Samsung Q7CnTV with HDMI and the TV is connected to the Polk Audio surroundbar 5000 with an Optical cable.
I get sound from the soundbar at the time of the Quantum TV setup and it sounds wonderful, but no sound from the new Media Server DVR after I set up the set-top box connection. FIOS works through the TV speakers. Another strange thing is that the soundbar works with Youtube through the smart hub app.
Please help!!!!
(FYI - My old verizon DVR box works with the soundbar using the same connections).

At first the box was on the side of the screen, but when we tried out xbox tv the box moved to the center. I tried to fix this by switching back to regular tv but it didn't work and the box is still in the middle.
