I want to rent a movie. You have a choice to click on rent or buy. I don’t see a choice for using reward points on any movie, new or old. If I click on the Rent button will I have a chance to use reward points? I’m worried if I click the Rent button I am committed to paying for the rental. How far along can you go in the process before it’s too late to back out?

FiosOne upgrade = Transferring recorded content from old DVR
I just placed an order to upgrade to the new FiosOne equipment. I was told when placing the order that I would be able to transfer recorded content from the old DVR to the new one and to call technical support for instructions. After contacting technical support, I was informed that there is no way (currently) to transfer the content from one DVR to another.
Verizon should have thought about this and created a solution for customers to transfer recorded content from one Verizon DVR to another before releasing the new FiosOne devices. Most customers, particularly ones with two DVRs, have hundreds of hours of recorded content that they should be able to save (transfer, not lose). A lot of the recorded content cannot be re-scheduled and/or re-recorded. Not every TV show or movie is available as a re-run or via on-demand.
Telling customers that they will lose all of their recorded content when they swap the equipment is just not acceptable in this digital age. Verizon should offer a solution to customers upgrading to the new FiosOne equipment, for example:
- Offer a solution for customers to upload recorded content from their old DVR to the Verizon cloud, then download from the Verizon cloud to the new DVR, even if only a one time solution for an equipment upgrade. Only being able to upload and save recording schedules to the cloud is not good enough.
- Offer a solution for customers to connect the old Verizon DVR to the new Fios One DVR via ethernet, COAX or USB and transfer recorded content.
Again, expecting customers to just lose all of the recorded content (hundreds of hours), simply because they are upgrading to the newest equipment is unacceptable.

The previous response was half right, you need to connect the Panasonic to the cable box using composite (red, white, yellow) cable. Choose input 1 or 2 on the Panasonic depending on which input you connected to the cable box, and run HDMI out from Panasonic to tv. Then you can choose source on tv as you do now. There is no copy protection on the composite out of the cable box.

Get your remote and go to STB. Push power off on STB and quickly press "OK" twice on remote. You should see b&w menu page. Hit left arrow on center of remote until you see 4 menu options, choose user menu. Go to additional HDMI settings, choose audio, switch to LPCM, exit out of menu. Turn box back on, you should have sound.
One of my two TVs using Fios stopped reacting at all, saying "weak or no cable."
I have two TVs that use Fios. Both were on earlier and working fine. One stopped dead (box went dark, with no one touching it or the TV.) The other is fine. All cable connections throughout the house seem fine. TV now says "weak or no cable."

This is a terrible restriction. I upgraded to multi room DVR and Gigabit Connection thinking I could stream my DVR when traveling away from home which I often do because of work. After agreeing to paying $170 a month I learn this is only possible for me on my iPhone X screen but if I use an HDMI adapter to stream to a hotel TV it is locked out. Very upset I’m paying all this money a month to watch soccer on a 4.7 inch screen. Seems they could detect when I’m not connected to my home Fios WiFi and allow this phone feature but lock it out when I’m home so I don’t cheat them another $10 a month to rent equipment I don’t need.

Sounds like your set-top box is dead. Try unplugging it for a few minutes to see if that helps. If not then call in to get a replacement.
Limiting channels viewable to a small list for elderly?
I need to limit the viewable channels on one settop to a specific list (not all subscribed), and not just using a favorite list. Eldery people trying to use a settop with hundreds of channels end up totally lost. They also don't know how to use a favorite list, and if they did know, they'd forget, or decades-long ingrained habits would override it. He doesn't know how to use the guide, after having FiOS for 12 years.
I can't go and delete every channel (subscribed or not) in order to limit the viewable channels; it would take forever.
Is there some trick I'm missing? Thanks

That's the purpose of favorites.
Create a list. And then make it default guide.
Yes, they can still enter random channels, but it should generally meet what you are looking for.

Verizon has said that the DVR is not designed for long term storage.
If the box has a hardware failure, you lose all of the recordings as well.

If available, it show as an option when selecting to rent.
You get several choices before being committed to pay.

Like previous poster said you have to setup favorites. It's very easy
Settings/System/Favorite Channels/Favorites 1/Addor Remove Channels then hit OK on the only the channels you want.
If he doesn't use the guide after setting up the favorites then go
Settings/System/Favorite Channels/Flip by Favorites/Favorites 1
After that when if you hit the channel button you will only flip to the channels in your favorite list. Even if you accidentally type in a channel by accident next time you hit channel button it will go to the first favorite channel.

The mini clients actually connect to a hidden SSID in Verizon's G1100 router. Right now that is the only way to connect them on wifi.

FIOS TV STB Problem
Last week my STB kept rebooting so I called tech support and they said it was a bad box and sent me another one. I set it up and added favorite channels and made the changes needed for Closed Captions and the rest. The next day my favorite channels changed and my CC was gone and I was unable to use my Android phone as a remote because it won't connect. Also I was unable to cancel a series recording as it continually restored itself on Scheduled Recordings. Rebooted ONT, STB and Router but it didn't help.
Called tech support again and was told that my box was bad and I should go to the Verizon store and get a replacement. Did that today and still have the same problems.
Called tech support again and went through all of the same diagnostics and the guy tells me he's going to connect me to customer service to try to get me a new style box and new plan for the same price. I said NO, fix the problem. He then said he would send a support tech to my house but they might charge me for the service. I told him, no thanks, and want to talk to a higher up in tech support. He said he could transfer me to customer service and I knew it was useless to go any further.
How can I leave Verizon eary without paying the early termination fee?

Not all smart tv’s you purchase have the app store to get every app. That is why companies like Roku and firestick etc. have the apps certain tv’s just dont carry.
you can try those devices if your tv does not support it. I have a smart tv but i like Apple 4K tv devices.

You can contact your states Public Utilities Commission or Public Service Commission via a google search and explain to the representative at the regulatory agency verizon is failing to provide services you are being billed and paying for.
they will contact verizon and verizon will contact you. If you dont agree with what verizon offers or states call them back and let the agency deal with them.
